Hemp: Nature’s Sponge
CBD safety is extremely important for consumers, as many product labels do not actually reflect what’s in the bottle, and some companies don’t provide a Certificate of Analysis. While there aren’t many studies assessing the safety of CBD yet, a review of the available data reveals that most studies administered CBD in a dosage range of 400 to 800 mg per day.
In a major study with the first and only FDA-approved CBD (Epidiolex), the dose was equivalent to a 150-pound person receiving almost 1400 mg per day. The primary side effects noted in the various studies were fatigue, nausea and sleepiness. At doses of 50 to 150 mg per day, it appears CBD is a relatively safe supplement. There are a number of ongoing clinical trials, which should provide additional insight into the overall safety of CBD.
And although it is exceptionally well-tolerated, CBD can cause side effects and also interact with other medications, such as blood thinners. Before using any CBD products, always check with your health care professional.
